Student Activities and Events
SYAP UBD and the Persatuan Mahasiswa/i Universiti Brunei Darussalam (PMUBD) have organised a range of initiatives that contribute to UBD’s sustainability efforts and strengthen community engagement. These activities encourage healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, social responsibility, and student wellbeing across campus.
2025
FASS SYAP-PING
- SYAP UBD, in collaboration with bpmFASS, hosted FASS SYAP-PING from 8-11 September 2025 at the CLT Foyer. the four-day event featured local food vendors and eco-friendly initiatives, giving the UBD community a chance to adopt sustainable practices. Visitors who donated items also received limited food vouchers, with all donations going to Lavida Sdn Bhd, a local second-hand thrift shop. Open to students and staff, the event turned sustainability inro action, fun, and community engagement.
Promoting Environemntal Stewardship Through Student-Led Action
- A beach cleaning campaign at Meragang Beach was organised by the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences Student Council (IHSSC), with support from the Leadership and Innovation Executive (ELI) and UBD student volunteers. The campaign aimed to foster a sense of responsibility and awareness among UBD students on the importance of environmental care, while contributing to the preservation of natural assets such as the beach and its ecosystem. It aligns primarily with SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and also encourages climate-conscious behaviour.
Ukuwah Walkathon
A walkathon was organised by the UBD Student Representative Council (PMUBD) and the Executive of Religious & Spiritual Affairs to encourage active mobility, promote environmental initiatives to reduce carbon footprints, and support physical well-being and community engagement.
Rise Against Cancer
- In support of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the UBD Student Representative Council (PMUBD), Executive Committee of Leadership and Innovation (ELITE), Faculty of Science Student Body, and PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences Student Council (IHSSC) organised a two-day awareness event at the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The initiative aimed to promote cancer awareness and encourage informed health practices within the university community.
Freshers’ Week Health Screening
A Fresher’s Week Health Screening event was organised by the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences Student Council (IHSSC) and UBD Student Representative Council (PMUBD) to promote healthy lifestyles and reinforce the importance of prioritising well-being, in line with the University’s aspiration to become a healthy university.
Qurban and Aqiqah
As part of its continued commitment to social responsibility and community well-being, UBD, through its Student Affairs Section and in collaboration with the UBD Student Representative Council (PMUBD), organises the annual Qurban and Aqiqah initiative. The distribution of meat to participants and underprivileged members of the community reflects shared values of compassion, generosity, and unity, while fostering an inclusive and socially responsible campus community.

Hari Sehat Serta Energetik by Executive of Safety, Health & Environment of PMUBD
- A fun run and cycling event was conducted in UBD in collaboration with Executive of Health, Safety, Security and Environment of MPPUTB which aimed to promote sustainable transport and a healthy lifestyle.
Misi Peduli Palestin by Executive Community Service and Student Welfare (ECSW) and Executive of Religious & Spiritual Affair
- Focused on humanitarian efforts and social sustainability, this collaborative event between PMUBD (Executive of Community Service & Student Welfare), Student Affairs Section UBD (Spiritual & Community Service Unit), Executive of Religious & Spiritual Affairs, and UBD Volunteering & Charity Club organised a donation drive and charity bazaar for Palestine. The event also aimed to promote volunteerism, foster a sense of unity, and encourage sustainable community engagement.
Mental Health Day Exhibition by Executive Leadership & Innovation Student, Executive of Recreational Activities, Executive Community Service and Student Welfare and Executive of Entrepreneurship
- Recognising well0being as a part of sustainability, the student societies in collaboration with PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences Student Council, Student Affairs Section UBD (CDLearN) hosted an exhibition to raise awareness of mental health, self-care, and resilience-building within the UBD community.
Bersama Berbagi Berkat by Student Representative Councils of UBD
- Focusing on social sustainability and promoting community solidarity, an inter-university collaboration involving UTB, UNISSA and KUPUSB took place during the month of Ramadan. The initiative aimed to prepare, pack and deliver 2,000 food packages to over 40 mosques across all four districts of the country within just two days.
